Orion’s expertise in the design and build of specialist stretch wrapping equipment has now been channelled into the manufacture and supply of bespoke, fully integrated materials handling systems.

Based on the customer brief, Orion’s dedicated team will design, build, install and maintain anything from a simple load assister to a complete pallet wrapping system, to make your production faster, safer and more competitive.

The versatility of these systems has quickly made them popular with customers in the automotive, pharmaceutical, paper, printing, packaging, food, aerospace, textiles and ceramics industries, among others. All are manufactured for ease of use, durability and CE (European Conformity) compliance.

Our systems are based on the following products:

• Hoists: electric, hydraulic and pneumatic hoists suited to all environments and capable of handling loads of up to 2 tonnein weight.

• Pneumatic balance arms: floor mounted or fixed to an overhead crane system, these arms can safely lift and manoeuvre loads of up to 250kg.

• Load inverters: products can turn single or stacked loads through 90 degrees - from vertical to horizontal or vice versa – into or from a loading or unloading position.

• Crane systems: for the safe, accurate movement and placement of products onto manual or automatic handling systems

• Manipulators/ end effectors: designed and built to suit product and production needs, these come with ergonomic controls, positioned to ease your operating procedures.

• Articulating arms and jibs: a proven and highly cost-effective means of lifting loads of up to 350kg, these products are available as free-standing or wall-mounted units incorporating electric chain or pneumatic hoist units.

• Pick and place: designed for the precision holding, gripping and manoeuvring of components, these multi-speed palletising and machine loading systems are software-driven and available with a range of standard and bespoke end effectors and manipulators.

• Roll handling: both semi-automatic and automatic systems can be specified, designed and built to meet the exacting standards of the paper industry.

• Roll wrapping: high-speed, automatic wrapping systems offer optimum protection to minimise product damage.

• Storage and retrieval: these automatic systems allow Orion to optimise floor layout during planning stages, whether your site is a new or existing one.

Orion is also the sole UK distributor for the i-Pal, a highly innovative robot palletiser with multiple applications.
